Permanently Deferred: A Bibliographic Opera


Experimental text and performance by Sophie Paul and Kaiya Waerea. 

Through a cast of 21 characters, including gender theorist Judith Butler, writer Paul B. Preciado, activist Sylvia Frederici, and more, Permanently Deferred explores how the processes of enclosure in England privatised gender, and frames feminist publishing as an act of public-making, which might recommon gendered affects and technologies. ⁣

It was published in How To Sleep Faster #15: Private, by Arcadia Missa Publishing in Winter 2024. It was collaborativley staged at Goldsmiths CCA in April 2025, with members of the audience playing all 21 parts.
